Alone but not lonely

Artwork by Edwina Kung

This illustration is from a series titled “Alone but not Lonely”, about loneliness and companionship. There are times when we had to learn how to be alone. When you are far away from your friends and family due to different circumstances. I recently asked people about their experiences of being “Alone but not lonely”.I always thought it’s something you have to learn through realization. Realize you can call your close ones when you feel lonely, or to remind yourself there are always people you can reach out to. But little did I know, it could be learned through acknowledgment. Someone had the most unforgettable night camping out by themselves, and someone’s favorite activity is to visit the local pub and have fried wings alone. We might be alone, and we might feel lonely at times. But remember there’s always someone looking for us even when we are at the darkest place of the tunnel.
