The series "What is Home" explores the idea of the sense of place and a portable sense of place. With our surroundings constantly changing, and with many people moving from places they were familiar with or once familiar with to places that are foreign and abstract physically and mentally, the experience might seem overwhelming at times. Many of my works are about the sense of place, particularly a portable sense of place. This isn't a new idea, but perhaps something that one experiences without noticing. We find connections to home through our surroundings. What is your portable sense of place? The drink in this painting is called Lemon Tea (檸檬茶), a favorite drink among kids in my childhood years, and it is still very popular today.
